Langtang Valley Trek
Langtang valley lies just north of Kathmandu and trekking here offers the opportunity to explore Tamang villages, to climb small peaks and to see glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. Much of the route is through semi-tropical forests where moss covers the ground and lush fern and orchids cling to tree trunks. Emerging from the forests the trail, often lined by mani walls, crosses wide meadows and yak pastures. Reaching KyanjinGompa, a village lying on 3,830m one can spend a day relaxing and enjoying the scenery or go to climb a small peak with views of the entire Langtang, Lirung embracing the glacier. Whilst retracing our steps past water-driven mills and prayer wheels to SyabruKhola we head back to our starting point in Syabrubesi.
